Chicago White Sox<\/a> fans would love to forget the last four seasons. They went from having a team with a championship window to it all falling apart, and Luis Robert Jr. being the remaining key player to that proposed championship window.<\/p>\n

Since then, the team has been rebuilding, and there were some things to get excited about this past season. Colson Montgomery, the club’s top prospect, finally made his debut and was crushing home runs left and right.<\/p>\n

Now, the team has had an exciting offseason. They surprised many when they came to an agreement on a deal with Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami, adding more firepower to a lineup that was starting to take shape.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s latest projection<\/a> has them as a team at the bottom, but they will still be a fun club to watch in 2026.<\/p>\n

“On the position side, an identity appears to be taking shape, one that emphasizes power and patience. Despite having the third-youngest group of hitters in baseball, Chicago projects to post the ninth-lowest walk rate. That’s huge. The homers aren’t there yet, but many of Chicago’s hitters have the potential to develop a plus power tool. More than anything, the team looks worth watching. Munetaka Murakami, Colson Montgomery, Chase Meidroth, Luis Robert Jr., Kyle Teel … it’s an increasingly fun group.”<\/p>\n

One area that could pull this team down is its starting rotation. They head into the 2026 season without a clear ace, but they have some high-profile prospects that could see their names called, like Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, Mason Adams, or Jedixson Paez.<\/p>\n
