The Reds and Xavier Univ. have agreed to a 10-year sponsorship deal, which includes mutually beneficially marketing and educational components and makes Xavier the official university of the Reds. <\/p>\n
Given that the sides have strong ties, the deal came together quickly. Financials were not disclosed. Reds owner Bob Castellini has served as a member of Xavier\u2019s Board of Trustees, as well as chairman of the university\u2019s Development Committee. <\/p>\n
After seeing FC Cincinnati (Univ. of Cincinnati) and the Bengals (Miami of Ohio) secure university sponsors, the Reds sought one of their own. Reds SVP\/Revenue Aaron Eisel reached out to Xavier Associate VP\/Marketing & Communications Doug Ruschman to get the conversation started, with details being finalized over the last couple months. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur objective is to have this partnership be embedded in everything we do across our departments,\u201d Eisel, a Xavier graduate himself, said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s getting Xavier students to come and shadow or our executives speaking on campus or just having a presence, we really want everybody in Reds Country to know that these two brands have partnered together in a scenario of one plus one equals three.\u201d <\/p>\n
Wednesday night\u2019s Xavier men\u2019s basketball game at Cintas Center will feature Reds activations during timeouts. Three days later, the Xavier brand will be integrated during Redsfest. Overall, the relationship will be featured on websites, signage throughout the Xavier campus and Great American Ball Park and radio and TV advertisements. <\/p>\n
On the education side, the Reds have committed a certain number of internships to Xavier students, and their employees will be able to advance their education at the university. Reds employees will also be able to use the health and wellness facilities at Xavier. <\/p>\n
