MLB.com<\/a> named the players who will arrive as non-roster invitees for the Brewers during Spring Training, a summary of their professional journeys so far and the skillset they possess.<\/p>\nAdvertisement<\/p>\n
Among the non-roster invitees are several position players; one of whom is infielder\/outfielder Greg Jones. Jones has bounced around the league early in his career but has a skillset Milwaukee may be able to maximize.<\/p>\n
\u201cA first-round Draft pick of the Rays in 2019, Jones has already played in four organizations, including brief stints in the Majors with the Rockies in 2024 and the White Sox in 2025,\u201d McCalvy wrote. \u201cHe profiles as the sort of player the Brewers love, with speed (172 stolen bases in six seasons in the Minors), defensive versatility at premium positions (shortstop and center field) and a little power (three seasons of double-digit homers). Not to mention, he\u2019s a switch-hitter.\u201d<\/p>\n
After ranking 22nd in home runs last season, the Brewers could use some extra power in the lineup.<\/p>\n
Enter Eddys Leonard: A 25-year-old infielder with a big bat. Leonard has showcased his ability to make the ball leave the yard but has yet to get his opportunity in The Show.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong the Brewers\u2019 chief organizational needs is power, and Leonard has hit double-digit homers in each of the past five seasons while primarily playing all over the infield and outfield, including extensive starts at shortstop,\u201d McCalvy wrote. \u201cHe hit 20 home runs with 11 steals in 126 games at Triple-A Gwinnett last season in the Atlanta system but is still awaiting his Major League debut.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another option for Milwaukee is an infielder\/outfielder who entered the organization\u2019s minor league system at a young age: Eduardo Garcia.<\/p>\n
\u201cGarcia signed with the Brewers for $1.1 million on his 16th birthday after MLB Pipeline ranked him as the No. 24 prospect for the 2018-19 international period, and he once ranked among Milwaukee\u2019s top 10 prospects. He\u2019s no longer among Pipeline\u2019s Top 30 but has touched the Double-A level in each of the past two seasons and is still just 23 years old. He\u2019s coming off a career year on the basepaths; he stole 41 bags in 129 games, up from his previous high of 15.\u201d<\/p>\n
