Industry sources tell us that MLB corporate sponsor<\/a> Dairy Queen is walking after four years as a league patron. Those were four years with impressive activation by the QSR (it has 4,000+ U.S. locations), which had MLB rights packaged with a Little League Baseball sponsorship, DQ\u2019s Blizzard\u2019s designation as MLB\u2019s \u201cofficial treat\u201d and its Stackburger as \u201cOfficial Burger.\u201d Creative support included player ads with MLB All-Star players, such as Cubs SS Dansby Swanson, Mets SS Francisco Lindor, Phillies 1B Bryce Harper and Padres RF Fernando Tatis.<\/p>\n

DQ won\u2019t be entirely vacating its MLB ties. The fast-feeder will continue as an MLB media spender, sources said. Meanwhile, MLB, fresh off its best postseason in memory<\/a>, is now without anyone in that significant QSR category.<\/p>\n

When Berkshire Hathaway-owned DQ became an MLB sponsor in 2022, it was its \u201cfirst-ever\u201d league tie-up. No rationale for DQ\u2019s failure to renew with MLB could be immediately ascertained (it did renew in 2025<\/a>), other than the usual back and forth over terms. However, we note that DQ brought on Colle McVoy as its new creative agency of record last August.
