The Dodgers add another elite, prime-aged star to a lineup that already feels overwhelming on paper. From a team-building standpoint, the move is logical. From a league-wide view, it is far more complicated.<\/p>\n

Why This Is Bad for Baseball<\/p>\n

The downside is just as obvious. The Dodgers continue to operate in a financial tier that very few teams can realistically access. When elite free agents consistently funnel toward the same handful of franchises, competitive balance suffers. Fans in mid-market and lower-payroll cities are left watching the rich get richer while being told to stay patient and wait for prospects to develop. Kind of funny that the Dodgers also have a pretty good farm system, too. <\/p>\n
