The exit music is officially playing for one former Houston Astros champion.<\/p>\n
Veteran MLB reliever Ryan Pressly announced over social media on Saturday that he is officially retiring from baseball. In his post, Pressly called the decision \u201cbittersweet\u201d but added that he is \u201cfired up for this next chapter with my family and [for] chasing whatever adventure comes next.\u201d<\/p>\n

He enjoyed a particularly successful run in Houston, making All-Star teams in 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n The righty Pressly was also a key member of the Astros\u2019 World Series-winning team in 2022. That year, he pitched in both the combined no-hitter thrown by Houston against the New York Yankees in June and also the combined no-hitter thrown by Houston against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the World Series in November. Pressly also recorded the final three outs in the Astros\u2019 Game 6 championship clincher.<\/p>\n Pressly did have a forgettable 2025 with the Cubs, posting a 4.35 ERA as well as his first-ever negative-WAR season. But he still finishes his big-league career with a solid 3.33 ERA and 117 total saves over 667 overall appearances. On top of that, Pressly remains MLB\u2019s all-time co-record holder for most consecutive scoreless appearances (40 straight for the Astros from 2018-19).<\/p>\n As for the news of Pressly\u2019s retirement, it comes just months after another notable member of that 2022 Astros World Series team also announced his retirement from MLB<\/a>.<\/p>\n
