To the dismay of MLB fans around the country, a new rumor suggests the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> are closing in a big trade for one of the best pitchers in baseball.<\/p>\n

The LA Dodgers didn\u2019t need any more reason to be disliked by baseball fans. In October, they broke the hearts of Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> fans by winning a second straight World Series. And while their growing dynasty is part of why they have drawn the ire of millions, it is how they have gone about building this dominant force that has frustrated rival fans.<\/p>\n

The team has spent literally billions to field one of the most star-studded rosters in MLB history. After years of evidence that clubs couldn\u2019t buy their way to a championship, LA has shown that with smarter management, teams can, in fact, pay their way to titles.<\/p>\n

However, after winning it all again in October, most assumed they wouldn\u2019t be big spenders this offseason because they really didn\u2019t have to be. Well, the LA Dodgers don\u2019t subscribe to assumptions and have thrown around a whole bunch of money this winter.<\/p>\n

First, to give a record deal to New York Mets<\/a> star closer Edwin Diaz<\/a>, then last week to the top player on the free agent market, Kyle Tucker<\/a>. That should be it since the signings addressed a pair of positions the club wanted to upgrade, right? Not even close.<\/p>\n

According to MLB insider Hector Gomez<\/a>, \u201cthe Dodgers are strongly pushing for All-Star Freddy Peralta on the trade market. The talks are becoming increasingly intense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> ace is a two-time All-Star who had a career year in 2025. While it is maddening that the LA Dodgers could land one of the best pitchers in baseball, along with being open to spending billions, they have one of the best farm systems in MLB. So they have the prospect assets to make any big deal.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, Peralta would not add that much to their payroll since he is making just $8 million next season.<\/p>\n
