In discussing the five MLB clubs that had the best offseasons, Bleacher Report\u2019s Zachary D. Rymer wrote about the Dodgers this past week (before the Tucker news dropped).<\/p>\n
\u201cTrue, the Dodgers of 2026 still mostly resemble the Dodgers of 2025 even after several months of offseason activity,\u201d Rymer wrote<\/a>. \u201cBut if that\u2019s a bad thing, we\u2019d like to hear why. Besides, what really matters is that the signing of D\u00edaz\u00a0strengthened what was easily the Dodgers\u2019 biggest weakness last year. Their bullpen had a bottom-10 ERA, while he had the best ERA (1.63) of any qualified reliever in the National League.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere is a fair case that D\u00edaz\u2019s best days are behind him, particularly in the sense that he\u2019s never again going to strike out half the batters he faces like he did in 2022. But since his whiff and strikeout rates were both in the 99th percentile in 2025, it\u2019s not like the present version of him is over the hill.\u201d<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n The Dodgers will be looking to become the first team in a quarter-century to three-peat as World Series champions. By adding D\u00edaz and Tucker this offseason, LA\u2019s front office has left no stone unturned in that regard.
