However, his ceremonious affairs won&#8217;t stop there.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The Giants plan to have a Hall of Fame celebration for Kent on Aug. 29 at Oracle Park when they play the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/baseball\/mlb\/teams\/arizona-diamondbacks\/253\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Arizona Diamondbacks;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a>. To honor Kent, San Francisco will also retire his No. 21 jersey before the game.<\/p>\n<p>Kent, who spent six seasons in San Francisco, became a member of the Giants Wall of Fame in 2009. He was a five-time All-Star, three of his nods coming as a member of the Giants from 1999 to 2001. He was named the 2000 NL MVP.<\/p>\n<p>Kent was a four-time Silver Slugger Award-winner, having won the hitting title with the Giants from 2000 to 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Kent becomes the 14th player to have his number retired by the organization.
