However, if there\u2019s a chance to land someone like Tarik Skubal, it\u2019s a deal David Stearns will likely look to make.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Mark Powell of FanSided pitched a trade that would send the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/detroit-tigers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Detroit Tigers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Detroit Tigers<\/a>\u2019 left-hander to Queens, but it\u2019d cost a ton.<\/p>\n<p>Mets receive: Skubal<\/p>\n<p>Tigers receive Jonah Tong, Brett Baty, Elian Pe\u00f1a, Dylan Ross<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Mets won&#8217;t want to include Tong, but if they hope to acquire Skubal, it&#8217;ll have to be him or Nolan McLean. You do the math.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTong could one day be great, but McLean has already proven he can be a front-of-the-rotation starter behind Skubal. Baty&#8217;s days in Queens could be numbered, as the Mets acquired Bichette to play third base. Pe\u00f1a is a lottery ticket, but one that is already ranked among the team&#8217;s top-10 prospects.
