But the on-field subtractions and additions aren’t the only thing in New York changing this offseason. The broadcasts in 2026 will be different for Mets fans.

As announced by John DeMarsico on Twitter/x, the director of SNY broadcasts for the Mets, who brought incredible cinematography to the broadcast, will no longer be the director for SNY in 2026.

Iconic Mets SNY director leaves role starting in 2026

“This wasn’t easy to write. Thank you for taking a moment with it.” Demarsico announced. “After 17 seasons with the Mets on SNY, my time directing games there has come to an end.”

DeMarsico shared a heartfelt message announcing the news, which officially signaled a change in tune in the Mets’ broadcast going forward.

For Mets fans who were treated to some incredible theatrics on the broadcast these past few seasons, this update is some unfortunate news.

DeMarsico’s creativity was something to tune in and watch for every broadcast. The impact he had on the Mets’ broadcast cannot be understated.

His work was beloved by Mets fans, and even by fans of other teams who tuned into the SNY broadcasts over the years.

DeMarsico’s best moments on the SNY broadcast over the years highlight how great he is at his job. This short video captures just a small part of the creativity and passion DeMarsico injects into the Mets broadcast.

While baseball is typically a static game, with still camera shots followed by instantaneous moments of movement, DeMarsico brought a new level of cinematography to the Mets broadcasts over the years.

Rarely is someone so beloved by a fan base like DeMarsico was. SNY is moving forward in a different direction, and the Mets broadcasts won’t be the same.

There have been a lot of changes for the Mets this offseason, with plenty of fun additions to the team on the field.

But DeMarsico’s departure from the SNY broadcasts might be the Mets’ biggest loss this offseason. He’s one of the best in the business, and now will no longer be the director for Mets games going forward.
