One of the New York Yankees<\/a>‘ many talented arms has officially said goodbye.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Loaisiga signed as a free agent this offseason with the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Loaisiga posted on Instagram<\/a> to say goodbye to the Bronx with a message shared in both Spanish and English.<\/p>\n

“Saying goodbye to the New York Yankees means closing a very important chapter in my life, filled with challenges, growth and moments I will carry with me forever,” he wrote on IG.<\/p>\n

Loaisiga had tantalizing talent. He had a 3.54 ERA for the Yankees and averaged 8.4 strikeouts per nine innings.<\/p>\n

Health and opportunity were never fully on his side, though.<\/p>\n

The Diamondbacks got him on a very low-risk contract that does have some potential upside.<\/p>\n

Loaisiga is 31 years old now and could have a handful of good years left in the majors if he can stay healthy.<\/p>\n

“I am about to begin a new challenge, but I leave with gratitude and pride,” Loaisiga continued on IG. “I wish you all the best, continued success, and many great accomplishments ahead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”<\/p>\n

The Yankees have a bunch of talented pitchers still, although health and consistency varies for many of the guys still in pinstripes, too.<\/p>\n

There’s a chance they wind up missing Loaisiga, but he’s taking a new opportunity and seeing what he can make of it.<\/p>\n
