Jung Hoo Lee<\/a> loved giving a large contingent<\/a> of Giants players, coaches and executives a tour of his home country, South Korea, earlier in January.<\/p>\n

Some of the big-time San Francisco names to make the trip were new manager Tony Vitello<\/a>, shortstop Willy Adames<\/a> and executives such as Buster Posey<\/a>, Zack Minasian<\/a> and Larry Baer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the Giants\u2019 FanFest event in San Ramon on Saturday, which was challenging for Lee to attend<\/a>, the third-year outfielder told reporters about his favorite part of the team-bonding experience on his home turf.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was super surprising — and honestly, really surprising — to see that support from my teammates and coaches, and obviously, really great to get off to a great foot there,\u201d Lee said through a translator. \u201cSo, [I\u2019m] excited to build on those relationships this season.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, the whole trip stands out to me,\u201d Lee added. \u201cIt\u2019s something that I won\u2019t forget for the rest of my life. But if I had to pick one moment, [it would] definitely be when we got out to some nice Korean barbecue and had a great experience with the coaches and teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n

It sounds like Lee had a great time — and good food.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not all.<\/p>\n

Lee also highlighted that the Giants\u2019 brand seems to be growing strongly in South Korea, which is a development that clearly means a lot to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s pretty evident the support that the Giants have in my home country in South Korea,\u201d Lee said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s pretty cool to see the fans rallying around the team and getting excited about us over here in San Francisco.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lee\u2019s job as a professional ballplayer in San Francisco has taken the 27-year-old far from home.<\/p>\n

However, Lee\u2019s organization has prioritized his comfort, opening itself to South Korea while attracting more Giants fans in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really cool to see the Giants investing and putting a bigger focus on my home country,\u201d Lee said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m really excited to kind of keep that momentum going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lee is a South Korean icon and continues to expose San Francisco to a wider audience<\/a>.<\/p>\n
