ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) \u2014 One of the nation\u2019s biggest healthcare companies has bought 7.2 acres of land near the site of the old Atlanta Braves stadium, Turner Field.<\/p>\n
Kaiser Permanente purchased sites at 550 Hank Aaron Drive and 41 Fulton Street for $31.5 million. <\/p>\n
Georgia State University has long since retrofitted Turner Field into Center Parc Stadium, where its NCAA Sun Belt Conference football team plays.<\/p>\n
Last year, the university gained city approval<\/a> to redevelop the site of the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium for a new, 3,000-seat college baseball stadium. Construction is expected to be completed this fall.<\/p>\n \u201cThe land could be used for a variety of purposes to improve access to care,\u201c a Kaiser Permanente spokesperson said. \u201dKaiser Permanente will engage in a deliberate planning process before finalizing development plans for the site.
