Brock Burke is the newest Cincinnati Reds<\/a> left-handed pitcher set to have a prime role out of the bullpen.<\/p>\n

He held his first media availability this week, and during it, he made a surprising admission: He sleepwalks.<\/p>\n

This is how Reds news source Gingersaurus Rex<\/a> shared it on X:<\/p>\n

“New #Reds LHP Brock Burke sleepwalks. Burke says it doesn\u2019t happen as frequently as it used to, but it still occurs about once a week. He\u2019s messed up his feet and even woken up on the balcony in the past. On the road, he double locks his hotel door out of fear that he\u2019ll sleepwalk through the hotel.”<\/p>\n

Incredible stuff.<\/p>\n

It’s pretty cool that Burke admits it, too. And the Reds will likely work with him to make sure it doesn’t become a major problem.<\/p>\n

They’ll also be hoping on the mound that Burke can be wide awake and locked in to getting opposing batters out.<\/p>\n

Burke came to town as part of the three-team Gavin Lux trade. He was most recently with the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> of Anaheim.<\/p>\n

In 2025, he threw in 69 games for the Angels and had a 3.36 ERA.<\/p>\n

In his MLB career, which also includes time with the Texas Rangers<\/a>, Burke has a 3.88 ERA in 214 outings.<\/p>\n

He has struck out 8.5 batters per nine innings while walking 2.7 per nine innings, a pretty solid ratio.<\/p>\n

Burke is originally a third-round pick of the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> in the 2014 MLB Draft.<\/p>\n

He’s 29 years old now, a 6-foot-4 southpaw who also has a World Series ring from playing with the 2023 Rangers.<\/p>\n

He’ll be hoping to help the Reds make noise this season, hopefully with solid pitching while awake and solid slumber when he sleeps.<\/p>\n
