Following the abandoned sale of the franchise<\/a> and the fan vitriol that came with it, Twins controlling owner Tom Pohlad said restoring the family name with fans is done first by \u201ccommunication, but at the end of the day, talk is cheap\u201d and \u201cwe\u2019ve\u202fgot to deliver.\u201d Appearing on \u201cStribSports Daily Delivery,\u201d Pohlad said if they \u201cdon\u2019t deliver, we\u2019ve\u202fgot to hold the organization and ourselves accountable to that end.\u201d He said the organization will \u201cmake moves that deliver on painting on a vision for what\u201d it is trying to accomplish and plans to \u201chold ourselves accountable to that.\u201d Pohlad: \u201cWe owe that to our fans.\u201d Pohlad noted the organization\u2019s goal is to \u201cbuild a team and a business that can support investments in that team that can be playing October baseball for 2, 3, 4 seasons in a\u202frow.\u201d But for the business side, the team is \u201cdoing things to bring people back into Target Field.\u201d Pohlad: \u201cOur players are going to play better in front of more fans. So I\u2019m pushing the business side just as much as I\u2019m\u202fpushing the baseball side\u201d (\u201cStribSports Daily Delivery,\u201d 1\/27).<\/p>\n

TIME TO REGROUP: The Minnesota Star Tribune\u2019s Chip Scoggins mentioned on \u201cDaily Delivery\u201d that if Pohlad had a \u201cdifferent last name, people would probably be thinking, \u2018You know what, this guy is pretty sharp.\u2019\u201d In Minneapolis, Michael Rand added the Twins\u2019 plan for 2026 \u201cseems smart.\u201d Rand: \u201cThis is not a year to go all-in given baseball\u2019s labor uncertainty and the Twins\u2019 perilous financial standing. This is a year to regroup and not spend big, especially if throwing cash onto a fire will only lead to another payroll cut later. What the Twins need more than anything is a sustainable long-term plan.
