The Baltimore Orioles<\/a> surprised everyone with the splashes they made this offseason, but it seems like they are one splash away from becoming a true favorite to go all the way.<\/p>\n

Fansided\u2019s Christopher Kline<\/a> believes he has the move that could take them to that next level. He proposes the O\u2019s make a final move, and trade for Minnesota Twins<\/a> All-Star ace Joe Ryan.<\/p>\n

The trade would look like this:<\/p>\n

Orioles get: RHP Joe Ryan<\/p>\n

Twins get: 3B Coby Mayo, OF Heston Kjerstad, C\/OF Ike Irish (BAL #3)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know the Baltimore Orioles need to upgrade their rotation. Ryan isn’t necessarily a surefire No. 1 ace, but he’s a 2025 All-Star whose peak enters that territory. The 29-year-old righty misses plenty of bats with his fastball despite lower velocity. He also exhibits elite command, with a 5.6 percent walk rate. Baltimore is more prepared to negotiate a long-term extension than ever before and the worst-case scenario is two full seasons with Ryan leading the rotation (or one full season with a fruitful trade in 2027),\u201d Kline wrote.<\/p>\n

This past season, Ryan posted a 13-10 record, a 3.42 ERA, 194 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.035 over 171 innings pitched. Pair that up with Trevor Rogers fresh off a breakout season, and the Orioles have one of the meaner 1-2 punches in the MLB.<\/p>\n

And, as Kline stated, the O\u2019s would have two years of team control<\/a> over Ryan. They\u2019ve also shown they\u2019re no longer afraid to spend after this offseason, and could be the team to give Ryan his first long-term deal.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, the O\u2019s consider this, and craft a proposal to send to the Twins to get the ball rolling.<\/p>\n
