Jones allowed three runs on six hits in 3 1\/3 innings Sunday. Darin Horn allowed a run in two innings, sophomore Hayden Johnson of Myrtle Beach allowed a run in two innings, and Dominick Carbone and Ryan Lynch combined to pitch the final 1 2\/3 innings without allowing a run. Lynch picked up his seventh save of the season.<\/p>\n

Senior outfielder Wells Sykes had two hits and drove in three runs Sunday. Sophomores Colby Thorndyke and Walker Mitchell had two hits apiece, and junior catcher Caden Bodine had a double, triple and walk in five plate appearances and scored two runs.<\/p>\n

Five runs in the fifth inning gave Coastal a 7-3 lead, with Sykes driving in the final two with a two-out single.<\/p>\n

Saturday, junior second baseman Blake Barthol and Sykes drove in a combined five runs and sophomore righthander Jacob Morrison, the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year, threw another gem.<\/p>\n

Morrison threw seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts to improve to 11-0 on the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have Jacob ready to pitch today and for him to give us seven innings like he did gives us a better opportunity to win [Sunday],\u201d Schnall said Saturday.<\/p>\n

Marshall opened the scoring in the top of the first when Maika Niu doubled to left and scored on a ground out by Eddie Leon.<\/p>\n

Barthol answered in the bottom of the first with a two-out, two-run, 382-foot home run to right field.<\/p>\n

Senior outfielder Sebastian Alexander led off the third with a double and fifth with a single and scored on both occasions on a sacrifice fly by Barthol groundout by freshman designated hitter Domenico Tozzi.<\/p>\n

Sykes added an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth, and in the eighth, junior Dean Mihos returned to action from injury for the first time in a few weeks as a pinch runner, stole second and scored on a Sykes single.<\/p>\n
