Pitchers and catchers for the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> are just weeks away from reporting for the start of spring training. As a result, I have been outlining previews and expectations for the 2026 staff.<\/p>\n

With the rotational arms<\/a> out of the way, it is time to look at the bullpen, starting with Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill and Jared Koenig.<\/p>\n

Abner Uribe, RHP: It has been an interesting journey for Uribe through his first three MLB seasons. After making his debut on July 8, 2023, Uribe found success in a limited 32-game sample size. He finished the 2023 campaign with a 1-0 record and a 1.76 ERA through 30.2 innings of work.<\/p>\n

But 2024 was a different story. Uribe struggled with his command, and eventually, his temper, after getting into a benches-clearing brawl with former Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> center fielder Jose Siri in an April 2024 game which led to the issuing of a six-game suspension and the loss of his spot on the 40-man roster.<\/p>\n

According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a>, Uribe\u2019s time in Triple-A Nashville was meant to humble him as well as place him in an environment with less pressure so he could return to form. Then, a meniscus injury compelled Uribe to undergo surgery that ended his 2024 season.<\/p>\n

Uribe was candid about the arduous nature of the 2024 season before beginning the 2025 campaign, and he was able to find himself back to the Brewers\u2019 bullpen; appearing in 75 games in which he registered a 3-2 record with a 1.67 ERA and seven saves.<\/p>\n

Uribe was able to bounce back last season, and the expectation is that the 25-year-old will remain healthy and disciplined heading into year four with the Brewers.<\/p>\n

Trevor Megill, RHP: Megill was a steadying force for the Brewers in his second season in Milwaukee. In 50 games, he notched a 6-3 record with a career-high 30 saves and a 2.49 ERA despite battling injuries. In the postseason, he appeared in five games (one start) and had five strikeouts with only one earned run through four total innings.<\/p>\n

Megill\u2019s high-level fastball velocity, which was in the 98th percentile in 2025 according to Baseball Savant, continues to make him a strong relief weapon. Heading into his age-32 season, the Brewers need him to be healthy and himself late in games.<\/p>\n

Jared Koenig, LHP: Another reliable presence coming out of the bullpen in 2025 for the Brewers was southpaw Jared Koenig. Through 72 games, Koenig went 6-1 with a 2.86 ERA, 27 holds and two saves.<\/p>\n

He also appeared in six of Milwaukee\u2019s nine postseason games last season in which he registered a 1.35 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. Also heading into his age-32 season, Koenig needs to be a reliable, veteran presence in the bullpen.<\/p>\n
