KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 The Kansas City Royals and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino are in agreement on a new contract, sources say.<\/p>\n

According to MLB.com\u2019s Anne Rogers<\/a>, the Royals and Pasquantino agreed to a two-year contract worth more than $11 million, which can reach up to nearly $16 million with incentives. The deal allows the club and the 28-year-old to avoid arbitration.<\/p>\n

The news comes after a great deal of speculation, especially following third baseman Maikel Garcia\u2019s five-year extension, as to whether the Royals would extend Pasquantino.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, reports showed<\/a> that Pasquantino filed at $4.5 million at the exchange deadline in anticipation of an arbitration hearing. The Royals reportedly filed at $4 million.<\/p>\n

The deal also follows a 2025 season in which Pasquantino stayed healthy for an entire season for the first time in his career. Pasquantino hit for a .264 average with 32 home runs and 113 runs batted in.<\/p>\n
