{"id":549606,"date":"2026-02-01T22:55:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T22:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/549606\/"},"modified":"2026-02-01T22:55:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T22:55:18","slug":"white-sox-trade-for-jordan-hicks-in-deal-with-red-sox-reports-nbc-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/549606\/","title":{"rendered":"White Sox trade for Jordan Hicks in deal with Red Sox: Reports \u2013 NBC Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chicago White Sox have acquired veteran pitcher Jordan Hicks and a prospect from the Boston Red Sox, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n<p>According to ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan, the White Sox are acquiring Hicks and pitching prospect David Sandlin.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Trade news: The Chicago White Sox are acquiring veteran right-hander Jordan Hicks and right-handed pitching prospect David Sandlin in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffPassan\/status\/2018035276124172324?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 1, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In exchange, the White Sox will send pitcher Gage Ziehl to the Red Sox, according to The Athletic\u2019s Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports, the Red Sox will also send the White Sox cash to help cover Hicks\u2019 salary for the next two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>The veteran pitcher signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the San Francisco Giants prior to the 2024 season, but he has struggled badly since signing that deal, with the Giants ultimately dealing him to Boston.<\/p>\n<p>In 34 combined appearances between the two teams last season, Hicks went 2-7 with a 6.95 ERA.<\/p>\n<p>The White Sox will likely have hopes that Sandlin will pan out, as he\u2019s coming off a solid season that saw him promoted to Triple-A.
