The Giants are bolstering their outfield in free agency. <\/p>\n
San Francisco signed centerfielder Harrison Bader to a two-year free-agent contract, the team announced Friday after The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal first reported the news<\/a> on Monday. <\/p>\n The New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported that Bader’s contract with the Giants is for $20.5 million, with incentives that can boost it to $21 million. <\/p>\n Bader Giants deal: $20.5M, incentives to take it to $21M<\/p>\n \u2014 Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) January 26, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n The 31-year-old Bader, selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 MLB Draft, spent the first five-plus years of his MLB career with St. Louis and won a Gold Glove Award in 2021 before he was dealt to the New York Yankees at the 2022 trade deadline.<\/p>\n Bader then was traded from New York to the Cincinnati Reds midway through the 2023 season before signing one-year contracts with the New York Mets in 2024 and the Minnesota Twins in 2025.<\/p>\n Minnesota traded Bader to the Philadelphia Phillies midway through the 2025 season. <\/p>\n In 146 combined games with Minnesota and Philadelphia, Bader batted .277\/.347\/.449 with 17 home runs, 54 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 501 plate appearances.<\/p>\n The veteran now will join a Giants outfield mix headlined by centerfielder Jung Hoo Lee, Heliot Ramos and Drew Gilbert. <\/p>\n Download and follow the Giants Talk Podcast<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t
