The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> are taking a chance on a former high school baseball and football superstar.<\/p>\n

According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive<\/a>, outfielder Jordyn Adams signed a minor league contract with the Brewers. He was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> in 2018, turning down an opportunity to play both baseball and football at the University of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

As a wide receiver at Blythewood High School in South Carolina, Adams had 54 receptions and 16 touchdowns his senior year. He went hitless in 10 plate appearances with the Baltimore Orioles<\/a> in 2025.<\/p>\n

Brewers’ outfield depth<\/p>\n

Adams is a defense-first outfielder, using his speed to his advantage.<\/p>\n

“Milwaukee places a lot of emphasis on athleticism and defense in the outfield,” Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors<\/a> wrote Tuesday. “Adams fits that role as a non-roster depth piece.”<\/p>\n

In 83 career plate appearances with the Angels and Orioles, the 26-year-old has 30 strikeouts compared to just three walks. Adams may not make the Opening Day roster, but this will be a fun story to follow during spring training.<\/p>\n
