ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Braves announced Wednesday its non-roster invitees to spring training for the upcoming 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n
The team invited 24 players, including top-10 pitchers J.R. Ritchie (No. 2), Garrett Baumann (No. 6) and Owen Murphy (No. 8). Shortstops Alex Lodise (No. 4) and John Gil (No. 13) were also invited and are the highest-rated positional prospects in camp.<\/p>\n
Five invitees \u2014 right-hander Carlos Carrasco, catchers Sandy Le\u00f3n and Chadwick Tromp, and infielders Luke Williams and outfielder Jos\u00e9 Az\u00f3car \u2014 appeared for Atlanta in 2025.<\/p>\n
In addition, 34-year-old southpaw Mart\u00edn P\u00e9rez signed with the Braves last week and will join the team in camp later this month. P\u00e9rez is a former All-Star and World Series champion with the Texas Rangers. He had a 3.54 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) with the Chicago White Sox last season and is a dark horse candidate to claim Atlanta\u2019s fifth rotation spot this year.<\/p>\n
The Braves are set to open camp with 64 players. Pitchers and catchers report to North Port, Florida, on Feb. 9, with the first workout set for Feb. 10.<\/p>\n
