The start of the 2026 Major League Baseball season for the Boston Red Sox<\/a> will commence with the opening of\u00a0spring training at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Red Sox pitchers and catchers report for their first formal workouts on Tuesday, Feb. 10 with the first full-squad workout on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Fenway South.<\/p>\n

Practices are held on the Fenway South back fields behind JetBlue Park starting at 9:30 a.m. and fan watch areas are roped and marked. Fans may enter the complex through the West Gate beginning at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox ended a three-year postseason drought in 2025, earning a wild-card playoff spot with an 89-73 finish, good for third-place in the AL East. The New York Yankees<\/a> eliminated Boston in the first round, winning the final two games of the three-game series.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox have held spring training in Fort Myers since 1993, spending their first 19 years at City of Palms Park before\u00a0moving to JetBlue Park in 2012<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How to buy Red Sox spring training tickets\"Action<\/p>\n

Tickets for the Red Sox Spring Training exhibition season can be purchased online at\u00a0redsox.com\/tickets<\/a>\u00a0or in person at the JetBlue Park ticket office. The office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox will play a total of 18 games at JetBlue Park, including 15 Grapefruit League games, a \u201cFutures at Fenway South\u201d game featuring the club\u2019s top prospects, a matchup against the Northeastern University Huskies, and an exhibition game against Team Puerto Rico ahead of the World Baseball Classic.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox will host four themed events at JetBlue Park this spring during the Grapefruit League portion of their schedule.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, patrons who obtain a special ticket can bring a furry friend to JeBlue Park for Dog Day against the Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a>. This limited package includes a game ticket, a Red Sox pet bandana, a collapsible water bowl, and a donation to the Gulf Coast Humane Society.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Feb. 26, the Red Sox will celebrate Pickleball Day during their game with the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a>. Each ticket purchased through this offer will receive a USA Pickleball-approved Red Sox-themed paddle.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, March 1, the Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles<\/a> for Margaritaville Day. All fans who purchase tickets through this special offer will receive a Margaritaville T-shirt with artwork featuring the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Tours of JetBlue Park are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on non-game days. Tickets for tours may be purchased from the JetBlue Park box office for $10 per person, with children 12 and under entering for free. Game day VIP tour packages are also available and cost $50 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. These tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be registered for in advance by calling 239-226-4783 or emailing jbpevents@redsox.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Who’s in and who’s out for the Red Sox?\"Left-handed<\/p>\n

Left-handed pitcher Ranger Suarez has agreed to terms with the Boston Red Sox.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox focused on bolstering their starting rotation this offseason, signing free agent Ranger Su\u00e1rez and trading for veteran Sonny Gray.<\/p>\n

Since becoming a full-time starter in 2022, when he helped the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> reach the World Series, Su\u00e1rez has been one of the best left-handers in the game, posting a 3.59 ERA over 104 starts. He\u2019s also been excellent in the postseason with a career 1.48 ERA in 11 appearances (eight starts).<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old Gray went 14-8 with a 4.28 ERA and 201 strikeouts for the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> last season. The right-hander led the National League in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.29).<\/p>\n

The Red Sox also landed first baseman Willson Contreras in a separate trade with the Cardinals. The 33-year-old first baseman\/designated hitter had 20 home runs and a career-high 31 doubles last season. The right-handed batter is a three-time All-Star, most recently with the Chicago Cubs<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Among the biggest losses for the Red Sox were third baseman Alex Bregman, who signed with the Cubs, and right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins, who was included in the trade from Contreras.<\/p>\n
