The Los Angeles Dodgers intend to visit the White House to celebrate their second World Series win in as many years, per the California Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers won the 2025 World Series in a thrilling seven-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays in Nov. 2025, and the MLB team which wins the World Series customarily visits the White House and the president.<\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t set a date for their visit, nor has the organization officially accepted their invitation. The Dodgers also visited the White House in 2021 and in 2025 after their last two World Series wins.<\/p>\n

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts neglected to comment on the matter when asked about visiting the White House last weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never tried to be political,\u201d Roberts said.<\/a> \u201cFor me, I am going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements, because I am not a politician.\u201d<\/p>\n

Retired Dodger Clayton Kershaw attended the Dodgers\u2019 celebration ceremony at the White House in 2025, and shared his view on visiting the Nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe White House is an incredible honor to get to go see, regardless of who\u2019s in office,\u201d Clayton Kershaw said, per the New York Post. \u201cWe went in 2021. We went this time. I know there\u2019s been a lot of stuff about, should the Dodgers go? All this stuff. But at the end of the day, getting to go to the White House, getting to see the Oval Office, getting to meet the president of the United States, that\u2019s stuff that you can\u2019t lose sight of no matter what you believe. I was super honored to get to go today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Why is the Dodgers\u2019 Trip to the White House Controversial?<\/p>\n

The Dodgers received pushback from fans ahead of their last visit to the White House, and likely will ahead of this visit as well. Amid turmoil in the US, the Dodgers have found themselves in the middle of the country\u2019s quarrel over illegal immigration.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers denied access to ICE agents<\/a> attempting to access Dodger Stadium in June on the same day they planned to make an announcement <\/a>regarding the immigration raids in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

After the incident, the Dodgers revealed<\/a> their plan to donate $1 million to families affected by President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration raids.<\/p>\n
