At just 25, he was the youngest free agent available and already a two-time Nippon Professional Baseball MVP.<\/p>\n<p>But the White Sox investment in Murakami went beyond their two-year, $34 million contract\u2014it also included a bathroom upgrade.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MLB.com<\/a>\u2019s Scott Merkin was the first to report that when Murakami was walking through the facilities, he noticed that the clubhouse bathrooms were missing something he had become accustomed to in Japan, a bidet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:montserrat\">\ud83d\udd25 Subscribe to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@untoldchicagostories\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Untold Chicago YouTube channel<\/a> to hear Chicago legends tell stories you\u2019ve never seen in headlines \u2014 real moments, real experiences, straight from the athletes themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne thing that stood out, one thing he did notice is I think we didn\u2019t have a bidet in our locker room,\u201d White Sox general manager Chris Getz told <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MLB.com<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s something that was new to him, and we are putting one in. So, it was like, \u2018Ok, that\u2019s something new. We can do that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">White Sox are adding bidets in their clubhouse as requested by Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One thing he did notice is we didn\u2019t have a bidet in our locker room. That\u2019s new to him. It was like, \u2018Ok, that\u2019s new. Will that added comfort translate to wins on the field? Probably not. But it certainly can\u2019t hurt for a franchise coming off three consecutive 100-loss seasons. And judging by Jerry Reinsdorf\u2019s free-agent spending habits, it\u2019s safe to assume not much money was being poured into bathroom facilities.<\/p>\n<p>But the White Sox clubhouse wasn\u2019t the only one getting a makeover. As the news spread rapidly across social media, the organization\u2019s High-A affiliate, the Winston-Salem Dash, announced it would be installing bidets of its own.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING NEWS from the Winston-Salem Dash.
