The Boston Red Sox have been swimming with the big fish throughout all of Major League Baseball free agency.<\/p>\n
After coming up just short in October last season, the Red Sox front office made several offers to big-name free agents, even after they secured pitchers Ranger Suarez and Sonny Gray and first baseman Willson Contreras.<\/p>\n
They had no luck securing a fourth massive addition; however, the signings of potential starters like Wednesday\u2019s acquisition of infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa have filled out the roster nicely.<\/p>\n
One of the MLB\u2019s biggest names in the media, Ken Rosenthal, praised the signing on \u201cFoul Territory.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey still want to add an infielder who will give them more offense,\u201d Rosenthal said. \u201cNow, IKF is an elite defender \u2014 he protects them at many infield spots, enables them some flexibility late in games perhaps\u2026 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe also gives them the ability to rest a Trevor Story on occasion. And whatever they end up doing at second and third base, he can be an alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Rosenthal then said what fans were waiting to hear: confirming that the Red Sox are still looking for a big bat on the dirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cI still believe \u2014 and they still are \u2014 looking for a guy like Isaac Peredes, who is under control, I believe, for three more years and would cost them,\u201d Rosenthal said. \u201cI have a hard time believing theyre going to go into this season with this group and this group alone.<\/p>\n
