The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> are coming off a season where they were crowned National League Central winners for the third-consecutive year. However, it could be difficult for the team to do it a fourth time.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Cubs<\/a> have put their foot down, looking to dethrone the NL Central champs. They have made a ton of moves that, on paper, put them in the driver’s seat to win the division.<\/p>\n

On top of what the Cubs did throughout the winter, you also cannot overlook who the Brewers have lost. It could be quite difficult for the pitching staff to put up the same numbers without Freddy Peralta.<\/p>\n

MLB analyst puts the spotlight on the Brewers’ flamethrower with Freddy Peralta gone<\/p>\n

The Brewers decided to trade Peralta and RHP Tobias Myers to the New York Mets<\/a> in exchange for prospects Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat.<\/p>\n

Losing Peralta, who served as the team’s ace, is going to be tough to overcome. He led all Milwaukee pitchers in strikeouts, ERA, wins, games started, innings pitched, and WHIP.<\/p>\n

However, the emergence of Jacob Misiorowski proved to be huge last season. He is a flamethrower who makes it his mission to blow the doors off opposing hitters.<\/p>\n

With the loss of Peralta, MLB.com’s Thomas Harrigan<\/a> puts the spotlight on the youngster to step up this season.<\/p>\n

“The Brewers’ decision to trade ace Freddy Peralta to the Mets has placed greater responsibility on the arms behind him, perhaps none more so than Misiorowski. The 23-year-old flamethrower endured an uneven rookie season, but given the quality of his stuff, the Brewers will be counting on him to fill one of the top two spots on their starting staff alongside veteran Brandon Woodruff.”<\/p>\n

That is quite a bit of pressure to put on someone who has only 66 innings of big-league experience, but the stuff is there. Don’t be surprised if he looks more settled in this year than he did last season, because the Brewers need him to be.<\/p>\n
