Initial rosters are subject to change. Australia currently has four MLB-affiliated players, and that number should grow in the coming years. This isn’t a team with championship aspirations, but it will be looking to play spoiler and advance beyond pool play. Bazzana will have some lineup protection from White Sox infielder Curtis Mead, who will look to bounce back in 2026 after some rough campaigns professionally.

Top Players: Bazzana is the best player on Australia’s roster and could one day go down as the best baseball player in the country’s history. Mead was once considered a top hitting prospect, and while his outlook has cooled, he’s the second-most recognizable player in the Aussie’s lineup.

Best Prospects: Bazzana is the obvious choice. He ranks 22nd on Baseball America’s 2026 Top 100 Prospects, and he has a chance for above-average hitting ability and power as a big leaguer. He’s the only prospect on Australia’s roster with a true MLB outlook.

Pool C

Japan

Australia

Korea

Czechia

Chinese Taipei

Dates/Location: March 5-10, Tokyo, Japan.

Australia World Baseball Classic Roster

Nameposbatsthrowsheightweightagemlb orgclubHall, KierenRHPRR6-0119524Perth Heat (AUS)Hampton, KyRHPRR6-0320025Adelaide Giants (AUS)Hendrickson, JoshLHPLL6-0422028Adelaide Giants (AUS)Holland, SamRHPRR6-0620431Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Kennedy, JonLHPLL6-0824531Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Macdonald, ConnorRHPRR6-0517529Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Morgan, CooperLHPLL6-0017524Adelaide Giants (AUS)Neunborn, MitchRHPRR6-0018928PHIReading Fightin Phils (AA)O’loughlin, JackLHPLL6-0521825Adelaide Giants (AUS)Saupold, WarwickRHPRR6-0220436Perth Heat (AUS)Townsend, BlakeLHPLL6-0422024TEXFrisco RoughRiders (AA)Van Steensel, ToddRHPRR6-0221535Adelaide Giants (AUS)Wells, AlexLHPRL6-0019528Sydney Blue Sox (AUS)Wells, LachlanLHPLL6-0020028LG Twins (KOR)Wynne, CoenRHPRR6-0318027Sydney Blue Sox (AUS)Edwards, MitchCSR5-1120026Adelaide Giants (AUS)Hall, AlexCSR5-1120926Perth Heat (AUS)Perkins, RobbieCRR6-0117031Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Bazzana, Travis2BLR6-0020123CLEAkron RubberDucks (AA)Callil, GeorgeSSRR6-0419828Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Dale, JarrydSSRR6-0118025Kia Tigers (KOR)Durrington, MaxUTLLR5-0916518ATHStockton Ports (A)Glendinning, RobbieUTLRR6-0220430Adelaide Giants (AUS)Mead, CurtisINFRR6-0221025CWSChicago White SoxWade, LoganINFSR6-0119834Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Wingrove, Rixon1BLR6-0424025Brisbane Bandits (AUS)Bojarski, UlrichRFRR6-0321827Melbourne Aces (AUS)Burke, ChrisOFLR5-1119024Melbourne Aces (AUS)Kennelly, TimOFRR6-0018039Perth Heat (AUS)Whitefield, AaronOFRR6-0321029Melbourne Aces (AUS)

With the 2026 World Baseball Classic set to begin in March, the preliminary roster for Australia is here.…

[2276
10264,5,2291,4,1586
0":"post-557893","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mlb-draft","8":"tag-2026-world-baseball-classic","9":"tag-baseball","10":"tag-major-league-baseball-draft","11":"tag-mlb","12":"tag-mlb-draft
["GET
