Per Jon Heyman of the\u00a0New York Post<\/a>, Mets pitcher Jonah Tong<\/a> is likely to begin the season in Triple-A. Tong, still just 22, recorded a 7.71 ERA in five big league starts last year, but has been brilliant when pitching in the minor leagues. The Mets still have high hopes for Tong, which is why they withheld him from trade talks with the Brewers for\u00a0Freddy Peralta<\/a>, according to Heyman. But after acquiring Peralta and having several other big league pitchers firmly in the rotation, Tong is set to start 2026 on the outside looking in.<\/p>\n
