The Giants on Wednesday announced they have extended 19 non-roster invitations to spring training, a mix of emerging prospects as well as some veterans who could force their way into the bullpen mix, including former All-Star pitcher Michael Fulmer.<\/p>\n

Reporting day for Giants pitchers and catchers in Scottsdale, Arizona, is next Wednesday (Feb. 11), with position players expected to arrive by Monday, Feb. 16. Players participating in the World Baseball Classic, such as ace Logan Webb<\/a>, can report starting on Monday.<\/p>\n

Fulmer, 32, is a former first-round draft pick who burst on the scene in 2016 with the Detroit Tigers, winning the American League rookie of the year award. He was an All-Star the following season. The Tigers turned him into a closer in 2021, and he saved 14 games. From 2021-2023, he appeared in at least 50 games, but missed all of 2024 after undergoing UCL revision surgery.<\/p>\n

The right-hander pitched for four organizations last season \u2014 the Red Sox, Cubs, Royals, and Mariners \u2014 but only pitched in three games in the Majors. He ended last season with the Mariners\u2019 Triple-A affiliate and had a 0.75 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 12 innings.<\/p>\n

Left-hander Nick Margevicius and right-handers Gregory Santos and Caleb Kilian have Major League experience.<\/p>\n

The biggest names among the prospects on the NRI list are corner infielder Parks Harber, outfielder Bo Davidson, and 2021 first-round draft pick Will Bednar.<\/p>\n

Harber, 24, is one of the most fascinating prospects in the system. He was undrafted out of college, but has hit .312 with 14 homers in 102 minor league games since signing as a free agent with the Yankees after the 2024 draft. The Giants acquired the right-handed hitter last summer in the Camilo Doval trade<\/a>, and he was one of the top hitters in the Arizona Fall League (.383\/.513\/.683 and fourth in the league with a 1.196 OPS), although he\u2019s yet to play above High-A. Harber\u2019s two primary defensive positions are blocked at the Major League level \u2014 first base (Bryce Eldridge and Rafael Devers) and third base (Matt Chapman), but he did play some right field in the fall.<\/p>\n

Davidson, 23, split last season at High-A Eugene and Double-A Richmond during his first full season after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2023, and hit a combined .281 with 18 home runs. He did strike out 119 times in 449 at-bats, but is considered one of the top outfielder prospects in the organization.<\/p>\n

Bednar, 25, was taken 14th overall in the 2021 draft, but back injuries have slowed his progression. The right-hander appeared in a career-high 38 games last season, including two at Triple-A Sacramento, and had a 4.97 ERA over 50.2 innings.<\/p>\n

Also on the list is Jake Holton, a slugging first baseman who grew up in San Jose, attending Archbishop Mitty High School and Los Gatos High School. He was a 10th-round pick of the Tigers in 2019 and hit 19 home runs last season at Double-A and signed as a minor league free agent over the winter.<\/p>\n
