Outside of ace Hunter Greene, the Reds’ rotation does not receive much overall attention. Cincinnati made a Wild Card run last year, though, and the team will receive more attention if they have another big season in 2026.

Let’s take a closer look at one of the most underrated starting rotations in baseball.

As mentioned, Greene is the ace. The 26-year-old recorded a 2.76 ERA in 2025 and 2.75 ERA in 2024. Although he was limited to 19 starts in 2025, Greene was an All-Star during the ’24 campaign and finished eighth in National League Cy Young voting.

The Reds may have the most underrated rotation in all of MLB, and left-handed starter Andrew Abbott may be the most underrated pitcher in baseball. The southpaw turned in a 2.87 ERA across 29 2025 starts. He earned his first All-Star selection and finished eighth in NL Cy Young voting.

Brady Singer is an established big league veteran. He recorded a 4.03 ERA in 2025, but gave Cincinnati 169.2 innings of work and 32 starts. Singer is a guy who goes out and competes every fifth day. He is capable of finding success as well, as he had a 3.71 ERA and 170 strikeouts in 2024.

Nick Lodolo is a left-handed pitcher who has displayed signs of promise over the years. In 2025, the southpaw had a strong 3.33 ERA in 29 outings. After a difficult 2024 season, it seems as if Lodolo has figured something out and he could be on track for an even better ’26 season.

Chase Burns could earn the No. 5 starting rotation role. He appeared in 13 games in 2025, making eight starts. Burns ultimately pitched to a 4.57 ERA. He could take a step forward this season if given an opportunity.

Cincinnati features one true superstar in the starting rotation, a proven veteran and a few overlooked pitchers who can make impacts. While the big market ball clubs with good pitching will receive more attention, the Reds’ starters should not be ignored. This starting rotation could make a huge statement with a big season during the upcoming ’26 campaign.

If Cincinnati is going to compete for a postseason spot once again, the starting pitching will surely lead the way.

The Cincinnati Reds have quietly built one of the better starting rotations in baseball.
