Readers can help select the Roling Ford Athlete of the Week. Vote for one boy and one girl from this list by 8 a.m. Wednesday, at WaverlyNewspapers.com<\/a> under Sports. Here are this week\u2019s candidates.<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced in the Thursday, February 12 edition of the Waverly Democrat.<\/p>\n

Boys<\/p>\n

Michael Stroud, Nashua-Plainfield Wrestling<\/p>\n

Finished 3-0 with three falls at the state dual tournament. Currently holds a 22-7 record on the season.<\/p>\n

Briggs Hoodjer, Clarksville Basketball<\/p>\n

Broke the school record for three-pointers in a single game by making eight in the Indians’ win against Rockford. Led the team with 24 total points in the game.<\/p>\n

Girls<\/p>\n

Lizzy Frazell, W-SR Basketball<\/p>\n

Broke the school’s single-game three point record by finishing with nine in a 72-27 win against Mason City. Also helped break the team three-point record, as the Go-Hawks finished with 14 total.<\/p>\n

Violet Diaz, Denver Wrestling<\/p>\n

Won her second state championship by winning her finals match at 110 pounds by a score of 13-4.
