BALTIMORE – Free-agent right-hander Chris Bassitt is joining the Baltimore Orioles on a one-year deal, leaving the Toronto Blue Jays after three seasons, according to multiple reports Wednesday.<\/p>\n
ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan was first to report the agreement, which is valued at US$18.5 million.<\/p>\n
The contract is pending a physical and includes a signing bonus and incentives.<\/p>\n
Bassitt went 11-9 with a 3.96 ERA over 170 1\/3 innings for Toronto last season.<\/p>\n
He also moved to the bullpen during the playoffs, allowing one run across 8 2\/3 innings.<\/p>\n
Bassitt signed a three-year, $63 million contract with Toronto ahead of the 2023 season and went 37-31 with a 3.89 ERA during his tenure.<\/p>\n
