Ronald Acu\u00f1a Jr. had to make a last-minute decision to join Bad Bunny\u2019s Super Bowl 2026 halftime show.<\/p>\n
The Braves star outfielder, who made a cameo during the Latin pop superstar\u2019s performance<\/a> Sunday, revealed that he was asked the day of the Super Bowl to be on the set.<\/p>\n \u201cThe same day,\u201d Acu\u00f1a told reporters<\/a> on Thursday about when he got the call to be in the halftime show.<\/p>\n Acuna, on the far left, was in the background for Bad Bunny\u2019s halftime performance on Sunday. Getty Images<\/p>\n Acu\u00f1a said no one told him beforehand about being a part of the show, but clarified that he was excited nonetheless.<\/p>\n \u201cI was so excited,\u201d he added. \u201cThey called me and told me \u2018you\u2019re going to the Bad Bunny halftime Super Bowl\u2019 and I said \u2018OK, yeah good.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The three-time Silver Slugger award winner was seen alongside Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Jessica Alba as part of numerous stars who made cameo appearances during Bad Bunny\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n Acu\u00f1a also said that he is a huge fan of Bad Bunny\u2019s music, telling reporters that he enjoys all of his songs.<\/p>\n Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny performs during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, 08 February 2026. CHRIS TORRES\/EPA\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n The five-time All-Star has had previous ties to the artist as well, as he was previously involved with Bad Bunny\u2019s sports marketing agency Rimas, which was involved in a legal battle with the MLBPA<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n The agency argued that the sanctions that the Players\u2019 Association implemented on them caused \u201cirreparable harm,\u201d alleging that they lost the opportunity to sign Acu\u00f1a as a client because of the penalties.<\/p>\n According to the complaint, the baseball card brand Topps, which the MLBPA has invested in, \u201cnotified Rimas Sports that because of the MLBPA\u2019s prohibitions that they cannot speak with Rimas Sports marketing, endorsement, and sponsorship deals, such as one for Ronald Acu\u00f1a,\u201d per ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bad Bunny performs onstage during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at Levi\u2019s Stadium on February 8, 2026 in Santa Clara, California. Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images for Roc<\/p>\n The lawsuit was ultimately settled in March 2025, and Rimas was issued a $400,000 fine for misconduct after they violated the union\u2019s agent regulations.<\/p>\n Acu\u00f1a\u2019s comments come as the 2023 National League MVP is looking to play his first full MLB season in three years.<\/p>\n The outfielder also told reporters on Thursday that he is \u201cfeeling 200 percent\u201d headed into Spring Training.<\/p>\n Braves manager Walt Weiss added that Acu\u00f1a is currently \u201cin a really good place\u201d going into his ninth season.<\/p>\n
