Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY SportsWho is Keston Hiura?

The Brewers drafted Hiura with the ninth overall pick in the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft and powered him through the minor leagues.

He made his debut for Milwaukee in 2019, and he had a solid 84-game season. He hit 19 homers and drove in 49 runs while keeping a .938 OPS.

His numbers took a stark drop in the shortened 2020 season, though, as he led the league with 85 strikeouts and saw his batting average fall to .212 from .303.

Hiura continued to struggled into 2021, where he played just 61 games and had a .557 OPS. He managed a solid 2022, though, hitting 13% above league average and hitting 14 homers in 80 games.

He spent the entirety of the following season in the minor leagues, where he struggled with injury, before electing free agency in the offseason. The Detroit Tigers picked him up in 2024, but he played exclusively for their Triple-A club before they released him in July.

The Angels picked him up and gave him 10 games in the majors, though he only recorded four hits in 27 at-bats and spent the rest of the season in the minors. He joined the Rockies in 2025, playing eight games and recording a single RBI before heading back down to the minors.

He performed well in Triple-A last season, though, hitting 21 homers and recording 67 RBIs with a .876 OPS.

The Dodgers’ roster is currently packed with talent, so it’s difficult to see Hiura making the Opening Day team, but he could prove to be a valuable depth piece as the season progresses.

Do you think Keston Hiura will appear for the Dodgers this season?

LA Baseball Report

Get the app for faster news

GET ×

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed infielder Keston Hiura to a minor league deal Thursday, per the New York…

[2390
291,5,18330,1165,446,3223,774,56,3224,3222,4
0":"post-569726","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-angels","8":"tag-angels","9":"tag-baseball","10":"tag-keston-hiura","11":"tag-la","12":"tag-la-angels","13":"tag-laangels","14":"tag-los-angeles","15":"tag-los-angeles-angels","16":"tag-losangeles","17":"tag-losangelesangels","18":"tag-mlb
["GET
