Long-time Dallas Morning News Texas Rangers<\/a> beat writer Evan Grant has teamed up with Rangers senior advisor and team historian John Blake for a new podcast. Our two hosts bring nearly 70 years of combined experience covering the Rangers to the pod.<\/p>\n

In this episode, John and Evan break down the start of camp (at least before Sebastian Walcott got hurt<\/a>) before former Rangers GM Doug Melvin joins the show. <\/p>\n

With this being the 30th anniversary of the Rangers\u2019 first playoff team, the guys will occasionally look back at key members from that team and Melvin put together an incredibly durable pitching staff. He also revisits some of the trades he was most proud of and some he wasn\u2019t. And then, John regales with tales of the Rangers\u2019 first spring training site, a high school baseball field in Pompano Beach, Fla., where Pete Incaviglia once hit a baseball straight through the wooden fence.<\/p>\n

Grant was asked the question on his Wednesday afternoon livestream from Surprise, Ariz., the Rangers\u2019 spring training home.<\/p>\n

\"Texas<\/a>With stellar 2025 behind him, Rangers\u2019 Jacob deGrom is focused on improvements ahead<\/a><\/p>\n

On the way to his 12-8 season with a 2.97 ERA over 172 innings, deGrom allowed 26 homers last season, the second highest total for a season in his career.<\/p>\n
