Across 55 games, the slugger hit .292\/.363\/.478 with five home runs, 33 runs batted in, and 14 stolen bases.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>He would go on to win National League Rookie of the Month for August.<\/p>\n<p>On top of what he did with the bat, he was also just as impressive in the outfield. He recorded an impressive 4 OAA, which would be on pace for a top-10 defensive outfielder over a full season.<\/p>\n<p>With the young slugger pressing forward, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/extension-candidates-for-2026-season?affiliateId=mlbapp-ios_webview_news-index&amp;rsid=mlbios.at.bat.new.implementation&amp;msockid=22f2f802fdb66a12332ae9affcc86b76\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:MLB.com&#039;s Mark Feinsand;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">MLB.com&#8217;s Mark Feinsand<\/a> makes the case for Miami to offer him an extension.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Having played only 55 games in his rookie year, Marsee is under club control for six more seasons, creating no urgency to sign him to an extension anytime soon. But we&#8217;ve seen smaller-market teams roll the dice with early-career deals, which create financial certainty for the club and a modicum of security for the player. Marsee performed well last season, posting an 842 OPS and 1.9 bWAR in his 55-game debut, showing himself to be the type of young talent the Marlins can build around.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>We have seen teams lock up their younger talent early, so why not the Marlins?
