The Cincinnati Reds<\/a> have signed first baseman Nathaniel Lowe<\/a> to a non-roster deal, MLB.com\u2019s Mark Feinsand and Mark Sheldon report.<\/p>\n

Lowe, 30, was designated for assignment by the Boston Red Sox<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n

A native of Norfolk, VA, Lowe split last season between the Red Sox and Washington Nationals<\/a>. He appeared in a combined 153 games, batting .228 with 123 hits, 18 home runs, 62 runs batted in and an OPS of .689.<\/p>\n

A 13th round selection of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft out of Mississippi State, Lowe made his big league debut in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a>. After the 2020 season, Lowe was traded to the Texas Rangers<\/a> with whom he would spend four seasons and win a World Series in 2023. During his time with the Rangers, Lowe also won both a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger Award.<\/p>\n

In 839 games across seven seasons, Lowe is a .264 hitter with 796 hits, 107 home runs, 417 runs batted in and an OPS of .771.<\/p>\n

The Reds open their Cactus League schedule on Feb. 21 against the Cleveland Guardians<\/a>. Their regular season opens on Mar. 26 at home to the Red Sox.<\/p>\n
