Since taking over as the Giants president of baseball operations, Buster Posey has been pushing to bring back a winning culture in San Francisco.<\/p>\n
With his championship pedigree, Giants fans seem to have a high level of trust toward Posey and his decision-making in the front office.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Giants chairman Greg Johnson has other reasons for believing in the seven-time All-Star catcher.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve said this before, Buster is the only guy in his 30s where I feel like I\u2019m the young guy with him sometimes,\u201d Johnson told the San Francisco Chronicle<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cHe\u2019s thoughtful and just carries himself so well.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the other thing he\u2019s trying to do is build a team of competitors, gritty guys. And I think he\u2019s done that with [Harrison] Bader and some of these guys who fit the bill. [Willy] Adames was such a great add, he just pulls guys together.\u201d<\/p>\n In his tenure so far, Posey has attracted several notable players, such as shortstop Willy Adames and, more recently, outfielder Harrison Bader<\/a> and infielder Luis Arr\u00e1ez<\/a>, to San Francisco.<\/p>\n This offseason, Posey and the Giants\u2019 front office also bolstered their pitching rotation with the additions of Tyler Mahle<\/a> and Adrian Houser<\/a>.<\/p>\n San Francisco also possesses a good mix of young players from Bryce Eldridge to Heliot Ramos, who only will develop with another offseason and spring training under their belt.<\/p>\n Although the Giants aren\u2019t as star-studded as other teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Posey has built a roster potent enough to contend during the 2026 MLB season.<\/p>\n
