It\u2019s inevitable that the Los Angeles Dodgers and their famed braintrust led by Andrew Friedman will look into improving the roster as the year progresses. <\/p>\n
Many of the offseason moves were made with the idea that LA would avoid having to overpay for talent at the deadline. The price for these assets normally is astronomical, and Friedman has been relatively steadfast in not giving up young talent for rentals.<\/p>\n

The lack of a true centerfielder may be problematic. Production from the LF and CF spots thus far has also been below where the team would like.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n When speaking with Doug McKain, MLB insider Bob Nightengale predicted where the Dodgers could look to add talent via the trade market.<\/p>\n \u201cI could see them adding another outfielder, maybe a reliever but the bullpen is so strong so I\u2019m not even sure that,\u201d Nightengale said. \u201cI would say if they can pick up one piece, maybe an outfielder, even if it\u2019s a fourth or fifth outfielder to have on the bench come playoff time. Andrew Friedman isn\u2019t gonna sit pat. As good as the team looks, you still want to improve on that. And you can certainly improve the outfield adding one more piece.\u201d<\/p>\n A team can never have enough arms, and even with the additions of Kirby Yates and Tanner Scott over the offseason, would it really surprise anyone if the Dodgers acquired another impact arm?<\/p>\n The bench is aging, and as such it wouldn\u2019t be a poor idea to inject some athleticism and\/or youth to it. That very well could come from the minor leagues, where a handful of Dodgers\u2019 prospects are on the cusp of making it up with the club.<\/p>\n Regardless, as Nightengale said, Friedman is likely not going to stand pat. <\/p>\n
