Los Angeles Dodgers No. 6 prospect Jackson Ferris<\/a> revealed his plans to make his MLB debut in the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Ferris is currently the Dodgers\u2019 highest-rated pitching prospect, and spent all of the 2025 season with Double-A Tulsa.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day I\u2019ve got to force their hand,\u201d Ferris told Dodgers Nation\u2019s Doug McKain. \u201cDo what I can do, and hopefully at the end of the day this year could be the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The right-hander has been with the team since 2024, when he came to the Dodgers\u2019 organization with outfielder Zyhir Hope in exchange for Michael Busch and Yency Almonte.<\/p>\n

How Did Jackson Ferris Perform in 2026?<\/p>\n

The 2022 second-round pick made 26 appearances with the Drillers in 2025, 24 of which were starts. He pitched a total of 126 innings last season, and had a 3.86 ERA \u2014 leading all pitchers with 10 or more starts. His 135 strikeouts also led the team by a wide margin, with the next closest player recording 24.<\/p>\n

Ferris also played in Double-A briefly during the 2024 season, posting a 2.54 ERA through seven starts.<\/p>\n

MLB rates both his fastball and slider highly, and compared him to current Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cFerris\u2019 fastball sits at 92-95 mph and touches 97, and his combination of extension, flat approach angle and carry make it difficult to barrel,\u201d MLB.com\u2019s scouting report reads.<\/a> \u201cLos Angeles had him scrap a low-80s sweeper that Chicago had helped him develop in favor of a harder, tighter mid-80s slider that he throws more easily for strikes and looks like a plus offering. His upper-70s downer curveball has similar upside, though it wasn\u2019t as effective in 2024 as he spent more time focusing on his new slider.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFerris\u2019 mid-80s changeup shows flashes of becoming a solid offering but could use more consistent fade and sink, and upgrading it will be a point of emphasis in 2025. He operates with a somewhat complicated delivery that can get out of sync, but he\u2019s doing a better job of repeating it and throwing strikes as he gets stronger. He has drawn physical comparisons to Blake Snell and has better stuff and mechanics at the same stage of their careers.\u201d<\/p>\n
