Mike Trout Plans Return to Center Field<\/p>\n

Angels superstar Mike Trout will be back in center field this season after a shift to right field and designated hitter last year.<\/p>\n

As reported by Alden Gonzalez of ESPN<\/a>, first-year manager Kurt Suzuki thinks Trout is the team\u2019s best option at center, a position the 34-year-old is excited to return to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel comfortable out there,\u201d Trout said. \u201cI feel like I\u2019m at my best when I\u2019m in center.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trout has been hounded by injuries for the past several years, but he believes center field will be easier on his legs than right field has been.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I felt like when I was in center, it was less on my body than the corners,\u201d he said. \u201cTo be honest, right field, I felt like I was running a lot. But it\u2019s just like a preference thing. Talking to some other outfielders and they\u2019re saying that they feel the same way sometimes; center is less on your legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nick Castellanos Gets Second Chance with Padres<\/p>\n

Castellanos left the Philadelphia Phillies under a cloud, with his offensive production decreasing<\/a> and disputes with manager Rob Thomson, including an incident where he brought a beer into the dugout<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now in San Diego, Castellanos has a fresh start, and he\u2019s promised to \u201clearn from this\u201d exit from Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI let the emotions get the best of me in the moment,\u201d he said, as reported by Julian McWilliams of CBS Sports<\/a>. \u201cGoing forward] possibly if I see things that frustrate me or I don\u2019t believe are conducive to winning. [It\u2019s about ] not letting things just pile up over time so when I address it, it\u2019s less emotional.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Steve Cohen Won\u2019t Let Mets Have Team Captain<\/p>\n

Mets owner Steve Cohen made headlines<\/a> with his comments on the Dodgers<\/a>, but that wasn\u2019t all he\u2019s sounded off about recently.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Cohen stated flatly that \u201cas long as I\u2019m owning the team, there will never be a team captain.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was my decision,\u201d he said, as quoted by Will Sammon of The Athletic<\/a>. \u201cMy view is the locker room is unique, and let the locker room sort it out year in, year out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some players reportedly pushed for a captain last season, but it appears those wishes fell on deaf ears.<\/p>\n
