Observations from Mets\u2019 spring training on Monday:<\/p>\n

Great Scott<\/p>\n

Christian Scott was sharp during live batting practice, striking out Juan Soto (on four pitches) and Bo Bichette in succession. <\/p>\n

The right-hander is returning from Tommy John surgery rehab<\/a> that cost him last season.<\/p>\n

Hanging in there<\/p>\n

Justin Hagenman also threw multiple innings of live batting practice. <\/p>\n

The right-hander was a spot starter for the Mets<\/a> last season after arriving on a major league contract despite having never pitched above the Triple-A level.<\/p>\n

Caught my eye<\/p>\n

Carlos Beltr\u00e1n was around the batting cage in uniform for the team\u2019s first full-squad workout. <\/p>\n

Beltr\u00e1n, a special assistant, announced in recent weeks that he would be wearing a Mets cap<\/a> on his Hall of Fame plaque.<\/p>\n

Lee Mazzilli was also in attendance for the workout.<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s schedule<\/p>\n
