Readers can help select the Roling Ford Athlete of the Week. Vote for one boy and one girl from this list by 8 a.m. Wednesday, at WaverlyNewspapers.com<\/a> under Sports. Here are this week\u2019s candidates.<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced in the Thursday, February 19 edition of the Waverly Democrat.<\/p>\n

Boys<\/p>\n

Kane Keller, W-SR Wrestling<\/p>\n

Finished first at W-SR’s district wrestling tournament at 126 pounds with a 1:03 fall in the quarterfinals, an 18-4 major decision in the semifinals and a 14-0 major decision in the finals. Advances to the state tournament alongside 11 other teammates.<\/p>\n

Cody Koepke, Denver Wrestling<\/p>\n

Finished first at the Cyclones’ district tournament at 215 pounds by securing three falls in 45 seconds or less. Advances to the state tournament alongside four other teammates.<\/p>\n

Girls<\/p>\n

Keke Smith, Janesville Basketball<\/p>\n

Led the Wildcats with 21 points in their first round postseason matchup against Don Bosco on February 12. Smith shot 7-of-12 from the field in the game, including 5-of-9 on three-point shots.<\/p>\n

Paige Kampman, Clarksville Basketball<\/p>\n

Became Clarksville’s all-time leading scorer by scoring 36 points for the Indians in a win against GMG on February 6.
