With Kyle Tucker a free agent, it was looking like it was time for Owen Caissie to step up this season for the Chicago Cubs<\/a>. And while he is expected to step up, it will be for a different team.<\/p>\n

Caissie, alongside Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo De Leon, was shipped to the Miami Marlins<\/a> in exchange for Edward Cabrera.<\/p>\n

Caissie is expected to slot into the starting right field role for Miami this season. That will make an outfield that will likely include Jakob Marsee and Kyle Stowers.<\/p>\n

MLB analyst puts the pressure on Marlins’ Owen Cassie to perform<\/p>\n

The Marlins are not expected to be much of a threat this season. However, that does not mean there isn’t pressure to perform in Miami.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter<\/a> puts the pressure on Caissie to be an offensive breakout for Miami in 2026.<\/p>\n

“Caissie spent the bulk of the past two seasons at Triple-A, where he hit .281\/.380\/.507 with 41 home runs and 130 RBI in 226 games. Kyle Tucker’s departure seemingly gave him a path to the right field job for the Cubs, but instead, he was traded to the offense-starved Marlins in the Edward Cabrera blockbuster. He should slot immediately into a run production role, with the potential to be this year’s Kyle Stowers.”<\/p>\n

Caissie should get tons of opportunities to drive in runs this season. He could be used in the nine-spot, as a double leadoff, especially with his above-average speed.<\/p>\n

Reuter also believes he could be someone like Kyle Stowers, who seemingly out of nowhere hit 25 home runs last season, blowing his career-high of three out of the water.<\/p>\n

While the Marlins may not win a ton of games this season, they have some offensive firepower that could make them a joy to watch.<\/p>\n
