Pittsburgh has faced past grievances from the Major League Baseball<\/a> Players Association over their lack of spending, but this offseason things have been different.<\/p>\n They have been one of the most active teams in the market, and there is one player this is sure to please.<\/p>\n Outfielder Bryan Reynolds has been with the organisation since 2019 and has quickly become a fan favorite.<\/p>\n Despite never being a part of a team that finished with a record above .500, Reynolds signed an eight-year extension, keeping him on the Pirates until 2030.<\/p>\n MORE FROM THE MLB<\/p>\n The front office’s more aggressive nature and free-agent spending must make Reynolds happy, right…<\/p>\n Fans confused by Reynolds’ odd answers to questions about new additions<\/p>\n Speaking after a Spring Training workout, Reynolds was asked what the offseason additions mean to the lineup.<\/p>\n In a soft-spoken voice and deadpan expression, Reynolds replied: \u201cYeah, I am excited about it.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just uhh\u2026 yeah it\u2019s gonna be\u2026 Spring\u2019s gonna be a little different now, different vibes, different thoughts.\u201d<\/p>\n There is something about his demeanor however that didn\u2019t settle well with Pirates fans.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a stale donut Bryan is\u2026 love the guy but holy crap dude talks like oatmeal.\u201d One fan replied.<\/p>\n 3<\/p>\n Reynolds has slugged 138 home runs in his seven seasons with PittsburghCredit: Getty<\/p>\n \u201cHe couldn\u2019t motivate me to make a sandwich.\u201d another added.<\/p>\n \u201cBryan has always had a way with words and to show excitement.\u201d A third replied.<\/p>\n Speaking in regards to the additions, one said: \u201cMaybe it\u2019s just his demeanor, but he almost doesn\u2019t seem thrilled about the additions of those guys, idk.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSimply speechless as he has never had any average players around him.\u201d A fifth said.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh’s additions in surprising offseason splurge<\/p>\n Pittsburgh has perennially been in the bottom-five of baseball for money spent on free-agents, with fans pleading with the front office to spend money to supplement stars Paul Skenes and Oneil Cruz.<\/p>\n It appears that general manager Ben Cherington has listened.
