We\u2019re drawing closer to the first Grapefruit League games of the year! Here are the latest notes from the Mets in Port St. Lucie.<\/p>\n

Kodai Senga<\/p>\n

In 2023, Kodai Senga<\/a>\u00a0threw his fastball 97 miles per hour or faster roughly 38% of the time. In 2025, he only threw it that fast 10% of the time. Carlos Mendoza said\u00a0Senga was throwing up to 97 MPH in his bullpen session today. It is still early, and it is easier to throw hard in a bullpen session where you don\u2019t need to focus on live batters or pitch counts, but this is still a good sign for a starter who discussed wanting to return to being a power pitcher.<\/p>\n

Luis Robert Jr.<\/p>\n

Luis Robert Jr.<\/a> is looking to build on the small sample of success he had in the second half of 2025 after he adjusted his leg kick, slashing .298\/.352\/.456\/.808 across 125 plate appearances. During batting practice, he hit multiple balls over 105 MPH, including a 115 MPH line drive and a 470-foot home run. His hardest hit ball in 2025 was 115.8 MPH. Mendoza described it as \u201cspecial\u201d how the ball comes off his bat. Robert Jr. also almost took Sean Manaea<\/a> deep on a hard-hit ball to left field.<\/p>\n

Jonah Tong<\/p>\n

Jonah Tong<\/a> spent the offseason working on a slider and a cutter and got to show them off in camp. He utilized the slider to strike out Bo Bichette<\/a>, get Jorge Polanco<\/a> out swinging at his fastball, and struck out Juan Soto<\/a>, Francisco Alvarez<\/a> and Luis Robert Jr. with his changeup. He also used an ABS challenge<\/a> on a ball thrown to Juan Soto<\/a>, but was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Bo Bichette<\/a><\/p>\n

Bo Bichette worked with\u00a0Marcus Semien<\/a> on bare-handed defensive drills<\/a> this morning. He also worked at third base with\u00a0Brett Baty<\/a> while\u00a0Mark Vientos<\/a>\u00a0and Jorge Polanco alternated at first base, and Marcus Semien and Ronny Mauricio<\/a> alternated at second base. Bichette also faced off against Sean Manaea and Jonah Tong in live batting practice.<\/p>\n

Bryce Conley<\/p>\n

Per Will Sammon of The Athletic<\/a>, the Mets have signed right-handed pitcher\u00a0Bryce Conley<\/a> to a minor league deal. Conley is a career minor league pitcher who struggled in 2025, pitching to a 5.01 ERA and 1.29 WHIP between Double-A and Triple-A. But he did run above-average strikeout and walk rates while limiting contact in the zone. He throws six pitches from his low arm slot, including a high-spin curveball, tight slider, and 92.6 MPH fastball. He will likely be minor league depth.<\/p>\n

Photo Day<\/p>\n

Today was photo day at camp, and SNY Mets<\/a> Twitter posted a collection of pictures of the Mets in camp.<\/p>\n
