And so, it begins! The first time our D-backs have taken the field since September 28, and we now begin the slow march towards Opening Day, in slightly less than five weeks. You may be looking at the line-up above, and be going \u201cWho?\u201d with regard to our first starting pitcher of the season, Thomas Hatch. Well, unless you did the smart thing, and have been reading our series on non-roster invitees<\/a>, anyway. \ud83d\ude42 But to save you a click, he seems very much like a depth piece, with underwhelming numbers, and the peripherals don\u2019t exactly stand out at great either. Still, someone has to throw these innings.<\/p>\n

After Hatch, we should expect to see some or all of these over the rest of the game: RHP Andrew Hoffmann, LHP Philip Abner, RHP Isaiah Campbell, RHP John Curtiss, RHP Taylor Rashi and RHP Bryce Jarvis.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, and with the obvious exception of right field, this looks – at least for the first couple of innings – quite close to what might be our Opening Day line-up. But plenty of time for things to change, between now and then. The good news. Today\u2019s game will be a free broadcast through dbacks.tv<\/a>. You just need to register with an email address. The bad news? It\u2019s the Rockies broadcast, so you should probably expect only tangential mention of the Diamondbacks. Still, it\u2019s baseball, and you can watch it.
